Ok so this is sorta a week late (sue me) but I writing my 2 cents now.
Ok so this ball was last weekend I already had an outfit picked and hair style chosen sometimes I can be pretty last minute with things but not this time. Seeing as I didn't make it to the DC awards I decided to wear the look to this ball that I was going to wear to the DC awards.
I did my usual ball prep and left my house at about 12:20 it was $20 before 2am and I wasn't about to pay $30 so I got me a ride and headed downtown to the club. When I got there it was a lite crowd so I sat on my suit case and texted my house brother Dvon who was en route.
Since my category was like #7 I just sat back and until about 3am and I left to get dressed.
Let me just say there's nothing fab about getting dressed in a tiny bathroom stall.
I was literally doing a balancing act trying to get dressed, do my make up, and fix my hair.
(This picture isn't great but you get the idea..lol)
As I waited for my cat to be called I sat and watched the girls cut up near the DJ booth. I received complements on my look. There's something about being dressed way up in a club when everyones dressed down that sort of makes you feel like you stepped through the looking glass...lol
Then it was my turn to walk, they played a beat and I tipped out onto the runway in my Prada sandals to the judges feeling every bit of elegant. And in less then 2 mins it was Grand Prize Garcon. I gave my uncle David a hug a walked away with my trophy to get out of my look.
The rest of the ball was nice the parts that I saw...It seems like I spent most of the time getting dressed but all in all it was a pretty good night. No fights, all cat's called, all cash given out so it was a success as far as I'm concerned. Much better then the last ball I went to here when I didn't get a chance to walk.
Also this was my 1st ball walking as a Garcon which was a relief. I've been in my house a year and I finally got my feet wet yay!!!
